Gifted is a gift as well as penalty; but being gifted means you are special from others! Being gifted means you are talented, unique, creative, and mostly get good grades. But if you are not gifted they would treat you like a child and not treat you as well. Plus, people also respect you more because they think you are smart and mature and know what is needed to be done!
But being gifted isn't always a good thing because your parents would have very high expectations on you! Plus, the work you do in school would probably be too easy for you and you would be bored with all the extra time and you can't even do anything about! Also, people have maybe stereotypes on you that you are a nerd. But, whatever people think of you doesn't matter you just have to keep on striving to do your best!
Asynchronous Development means that when you are growing up you might have uneven qualities physically, emotionally, and intellectually, which is being shown in the signs of gifted students! This means that even though you are 13 you might not look like you are 12 or 13 because you are really short or tall and you might have a really young looking face or a really older looking face, things like that. Plus, intellectually you might be 13 but you can only study at a lower or higher grade level and emotionally you might be sensitive as a younger or older kid. I have experienced this when me and my younger friends go to watch a movie I usually take the sad scenes seriously and start crying; but as for them they don't won't even care! It makes me feel weird to be the only one crying but it happens and there is nothing I can do to stop crying. Gifted students are expected to perform better then the average student and will push themselves until they do! But since this is who I am ; it all makes sense that this is common and it happens to all gifted students! But, we are people who are very smart, multi-talented so I am very happy that is me it's okay if I am just a little bit more emotionally than others it's worth it to be gifted!
