Google's 20%
I personally think that we should not be given 20% of our time at school to have free time. Mostly, most of the students would misuse it by talking to friends and just hanging out and not thinking about creative ideas and their career. Also, most kids already know what they are interested in we don't need more time to think about it especially when we could be learning. If a kid really wants to study and worry about his or her future he would take the time to think and do so by himself; he wouldn't need the extra time in school. But, as for someone who has no idea about what career he wants he should take more time into learning the subject and see which subject he likes and be learning rather than having free time to think about his career which he has no idea about. It's better for him to learn in that 20% of time then to rather daydream off. This is my personal opininon and I don't think we need this extra time to think.

The Big Picture
My favorite photo essays was the Lunar new year 2012 because this is the most jolliest and festive photo essay and it shows how much people go through to have a great festival. I like this photo essay so much because it shows how people have fun and celebrate the lunar year. In my religion we also have a festival very close relating to this so that makes me relate to this festival more and realize how much fun they are to celebrate. What I learned from the photo essay was that many people go home to their native place to celebrate the lunar new year. Also, many chinese people celebrate this festival and on this day they pray to the god by offering the god incense sticks. This is the biggest festival for the chinese people and this festival is 15 days long. When the lunar year comes everybody in china gets the party on and goes all out to celebrate this festival and have the best time. This is why I like this photo essay the most and it looks the most colorful to look at too!
Waste Land
I think that Waste land was a very amazing movie on showing how people live even though we never even consider them at alll. This movie showed us how they live and still how happy they are living even though they have no luxeries and good facilties. Waste Land showed me another part of the world I would have never considered to even exist. In the beginning of the movie I thought the people were really sad and looked they were really depressed but in the end of the movie I realized that they were actually really happy people and they were actually having fun and having a good time and not being sad of what they do.
Vik Muinz helped the people of Jardim Gramacho by showing that they can do other things than just picking up garbage. He made them give a break from the garbage and make them have fun and get to make them feel more free and make them realize they could do so much more than pick garbage. He made them feel special and more loved.
I think that honest job they have at the landfill is the better job; because you know that you are doing the right thing instead of having an dishonest job and just ruining your health and doing really stupid stuff. Having an honest job makes you more respectful in society and makes you more happier for doing the right thing.
After looking at this film it made me realize that everybody consumes so much garbage and we don't even know it. If we continue to consume this much garbage the environment will turn really into a bigger waste land. This made me realize that if I could recycle an item I should recycle and also I should try to not use a bunch of waste products. Like, say I spilled milk on the ground I should only take a 2-3 tissues to clean it up not 5-6. This way I can reduce how much garbage I use.
Other societies which could be highlighted in his artwork are places like third-world countries and developing countries such as India and China. These places are just like Brazil; and consume a lot of waste and have a lot of people which makes more waste. These countries relate to Brazil more and the highlight his artwork the best!
